Abstract

The article discusses the implications of the homo-mensura-thesis of Protagoras. It focusses on the reception of the Florentine Renaissance and its Christian reversal. It points out especially the influence of the interpretation of Protagoras given by Cusanus, particularly with regard to his radical change of comprehension of humans and the pedagogical task, which influence is persisting until present age. Ultimately, some sceptic advices are given concerning the theorem of Protagoras.
