Thesis on the relationship between humanity and interculturality

Raśl Fornet-Betancourt

Abstract

The idea of the humanity of man is culturally determined. No culture can, however, completely determine the essence of this idea because the individual cultures reflect only individual historical contexts. The interculturality, as exchange of cultural experiences, makes us aware both the unilateral nature of the sense of cultures situated contextually and the plural sense that instead defines humanity in its complexity. To match to this manifold sense of humanity, the concept of culture must be understood as a critical corrective.
